Add to that the occasional air of snobbery, and it can feel like wine is only for the experts. I’m sure many of us can relate: when we go to the bar or a weekend wine tour with friends, it’s more about the vibes and the memories than the tasting notes we barely understand.
Last year, I set out on a journey to learn more about wine—not just the flavors, but the craft, the passion, and the beauty behind winemaking. And while I came to deeply appreciate the art and science of it all, I couldn’t shake the feeling that the world of wine is still far too intimidating for the casual drinker.
